Playing Posture
As most of our students know, our approach to teaching golf that has been extremely successful is to teach the game holistically. From our experience, we have learned that people have the same patterns, for better or worse, throughout each part of the game. An example of this is proper playing posture.

When a student shows up with a 5 iron or Driver in a poor playing posture, we almost know for certain that they will have a poor playing posture in the short game as well as their putting.

It is important to have proper playing posture, but it is also important to be consistent in proper playing posture. Whether you are hitting a drive, iron, short shot or putt, bend from the hip joint keeping your shoulders back allowing your arms to hang naturally. When you take your stance, make sure that you are balanced between the balls and the heels of the feet with a slight bias toward the balls of the feet.

The most difficult thing about playing posture is that you can't see yourself. Recently I worked with PGA Tour Player Shaun Micheel on his playing posture. Without the confirmation of a video, I don't think he would have believed that what he was feeling was not what was happening. Using video helps communicate the difference between feel and real, which are rarely the same.
