Impact Golf Staff

Todd Sones


Todd began his golf career in 1981. After working as a club professional for 15 years, He decided to completely turn his attention to teaching golf, opening Impact Golf in 1998. Scott McCarron, Robert Gamez, Shaun Micheel, Jay Williamson, Steve Jones, Paul Goydos, Stephanie Louden, and Hillary Lunke are among the PGA/LPGA professionals who have worked with Todd. Todd has been voted one of the Top 100 Golf Instructors in America by Golf Magazine since 1995 , as well as one of the 50 Greatest Teachers in America by Golf Digest. He has twice been named Teacher of the Year in the Illinois PGA. Todd has published over 100 articles in major publications, such as Golf Digest and Golf Magazine. Todd has also published two successful books; “Lights Out Putting” and “Saving Par”.

Todd developed and patented the Tri-Fit method of fitting putters.

 

Mason Wall
Senior Instructor

 

Mason graduated with high honors from the Myrtle Beach campus of the Golf Academy of America in the Spring of 2015. After meeting Mason during a campus visit, Todd offered him a position on staff as an apprentice instructor. After completing all Impact Golf testing, as well as 500 observational hours during 2015, Mason joined our staff as a full time instructor in 2016. After a full year of teaching, it is evident how well our training system works. Mason has become a solid member of the Impact team. He has helped many students enjoy the game at a higher level.



Jeff Williams
Instructor

Jeff has been teaching golf professionally for 13 years. He graduated as the President of his class from Golf Academy of America Phoenix campus with honors in 2009. Jeff was a part of the Impact Golf Instructional staff for  5 years at White Deer Run after graduating from the Golf Academy. Jeff  gained valuable experience to start his teaching career at   Michiana Golf Academy in Indiana for 7 years. Jeff also taught in San Diego at Boulder Oaks for a year before returning to Chicago to rejoin the Impact Golf Team.
His passion is to help his students improve their game holistically  maximizing their scoring potential by working on short game, full swing and putting.  His students from juniors to senior players range from beginners to scratch, social to competitive.  Jeff
gets results for his students, achieving success under his care, teaching and leadership. 


Jennifer Dietrich
Instructor


Jennifer was born and raised on the North side of Chicago. She began golf when she was 7 years old. At 12 years old, she began working with Todd Sones who became her primary swing instructor leading to many junior titles and success.  For two years, she attended Adlai E. Stevenson High School, where she led the team to the Illinois State Finals for the first time in school history. For her last two years of high school, she attended the David Leadbetter Golf Academy at IMG Academy where she competed regularly on national junior tours including the AJGA, FCWT, IJGT & Hurricane Tour.
 As a result of a successful junior golf career, she was recruited to play for the Rollins College Women’s Golf Team. After graduating college, Jennifer worked in advertising and marketing. After a few years without golf being the core of her life, she attended and graduated from the Golf Academy of America in Phoenix, Arizona to pursue her passion and ultimate goal of becoming a golf instructor. Jennifer spent her summer before graduating, apprenticing with Todd Sones and his instructors, completing the 500 observation hours necessary to instruct at the Todd Sones Golf Academy. Any free time Jennifer had while attending the Golf Academy of America was spent observing well known instructors, such as Mike and Sandy Labauve, Mark Winkley, and Char Carlson.



 

Andrew Benton
Instructor

Andrew has been with Impact Golf for 10 years doing set-up for all of the golf schools, while he apprenticed to be an instructor. He has spent the last six summer seasons as an instructor. During the winter, Andrew teaches advanced math at Antioch High School. Andrew also played competitively at both the high school and college levels.
